Vicki Cowan Edinburgh Counselling Counsellor

Hello, I’m Vicki Cowan and I’m a person-centred counsellor working in Edinburgh.

I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work to their ethical code. I hold a Diploma in counselling. I am trained in the Person-Centred approach and integrate other approaches in my work.

You might be looking for counselling because you are struggling and you may feel like you have tried everything else. You might be in crisis, or you might be experiencing a long period of unhappiness or anxiety. Maybe you are worried that you just don’t know how to feel better. Counselling can help.

I can help you identify what you would like to focus on and then support you to define small steps to move towards that goal. Together we can work to find/identify any blocks that are holding you back. We will focus on how you want to feel and discover the resources you have to get there. You will have the answers – I can help and support you to find them.

As your therapist, I’ll bring my insight, compassion and curiosity.
I will use my training and experience to make our sessions an important place for you to explore, be open and be really heard in your difficulties. The relationship we build can help you explore your life experience, understand and accept yourself and give your life more meaning.
I have helped people with:

  • anxiety and depression
  • self-confidence and self-compassion
  • bereavement and loss
  • getting in touch with emotions
  • childhood issues
  • relationships difficulties
  • trauma and abuse

Whether you have a specific issue you’d like counselling to help you with, or a more general feeling of things not being quite right, I’d be happy to hear from you.

I have a passion for the outdoors and love being outside in nature. I love Edinburgh’s big skies and green places.
