What is counselling?

Counselling is a collaborative process that gives you a safe place to talk, share problems and explore your thoughts and emotions. It aims to help you deal with and overcome issues that cause pain or distress, or leave you feeling uncomfortable or stuck.

Counselling usually focuses on what’s happening in your life now and how you’re feeling at the moment. Your counsellor is there to support you. They won’t normally give advice, but will help you find your own insight and understanding of your difficulties.
